Major Phil Packer, a Royal Military Police officer, was left with a severe spinal injury following a rocket attack in Basra. He was expected never to walk again. He has progressed to such an extent that he is attempting to walk the 2009 Flora London Marathon on crutches. It will take him almost two weeks to complete the 26.2 miles.
He is now half way through the marathon, has raised £527,355,000 for Help for Heroes and hopes to raise £1 million. You can support him here.
