War with Pakistan

here or there?

It's going too fast. It's going too fast.

Are we at war with Pakistan? NATO and the USA form a strange alliance in Afghanistan. Blair started Operation Enduring Freedom with the US in 2001 and we are also part of the NATO alliance. The USA is bombing the tribal areas and both the Afghan and Pakistan governments, as well as the man on the Clapham omnibus, say that this is making life easier for the Taliban and more difficult for them. Yet at the same time the government of Pakistan allows drone attacks from a base inside Pakistan.

Already we have the Taliban in control in many areas, girls' schools have been burned and the Pakistan government have agreed to allow sharia law in tribal areas run by the Taliban in return for some peace and order. In the UK we have also allowed Sharia - see the Council of ex-Muslims of Britain on this one here.
