So what does the name tee2i mean?

Well it's shorthand for the independence index. This blog takes independence seriously. There's no problem, in principle, with a country being part of a confederation or partnership, the UK is part of NATO. But the EU is a failing confederation and our independence is threatened by continued membership. But there's more to politics than the EU. Neither is politics all about leaning left or rightward on any issue, it's far more subtle than that. It's all down to the quality of life so let's aim high. It's our right to do so.

War on drugs lost

has been lost In 1975 there were 5,000 heroin addicts in the UK. Now there are estimated to be 281,000 in England alone. We have the highest level of drug addiction in Europe. Perhaps it's time to admit that the war is lost and that the war may be causing more harm than the drugs.

The USA has spent billions helping build a narco-state in Columbia and other countries are following this pattern.Herbicides used to destroy coca and poppy also destroy the soil. In 1964 The Dangerous Drugs Act marked the beginning of the end of the 'British system' of allowing doctors to prescribe drugs to addicts in a regulated and safe manner.

Khat is legal in the UK and costs £15 per kilo. In the USA ,where it is illegal, it costs over £200. I wonder why?

Mr.Briggs claimed that it was ridiculous to be allowed to say that Stalin never hurt a fly but not to be able to say that global warming was not mainly caused by man.

The secret statistics of female genital mutilation

instruments are often crude
instruments are often crude It is hard to find out official statistics regarding FGM but it certainly happens and the figures are growing according to the agencies dealing with it. It has been illegal since 1985.This law has been evaded by parents taking their daughters abroad but the 2004 Female Genital Mutilation Act makes this illegal also and punishable by up to 14 years' imprisonment.

The then Home Secretary, David Blunkett, said he expected to see prosecutions as a result of the new law and that all concerned organisations must: "be brave enough to take it head-on" and "Where doctors come across this kind of mutilation they have a duty to take action in reporting it". To date there has NEVER been a prosecution. Two doctors who offered to perform the operation were merely struck off but subsequently re-instated.
